The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.

The exhibition was very inclusive and many of the outfits and art material both thought provoking and beautiful. I had quite the ‘I want list’ by the end.
It was great to see some amazing vintage pieces close up and the inclusion of recent outfits was clever and in some way made the concept of this exhibition more meaningful.
I wish the labelling had been more helpful. Once or twice I struggled to identify which item was which in a display. A scannable code at each item that gave me details on my phone would have been great. And scratch and sniff cards magic.
Overall it was informative and fun but I felt that there could have been more considering the source range.
But seeing a handful of pieces that were truly magnificent made the show worth the entry.

Over the years I have visited London many times but never taken time to visit the Victoria and Albert museum. This is a GREAT museum. And like most museums in London it is free with an option to donate.

This is a magnificent collection of paintings, sculpture and ceramics. One could spend many days and still not see everything. We didn't take the tour but chose to visit every floor at our own pace. After several hours we made our way to central atrium restaurant for drinks. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon leaving plenty of reason to return.

this place is a MUST! Apart from the fact, that the British robbery of the planet appears very clear it is a very well done museum!

I had not been in the V&A museum for about 50 years so I was greatly surprised by the improvements from my previous visit. I remembered the museum as a dull place with lots of exhibits in drawers but that has all changed. The Buddhist exhibits was especially interesting for us as my wife is Buddhist. It is the most extensive that we have seen. Also do not miss the cast rooms. These are spectacular.
The best part of the V&A is that it is not crowded. The previous day we went to the Natural history and was completely disappointed in the crowds of school children running around. It made it impossible to look at anything. We almost skipped the V&A because of that but are very glad that we did not.

This is a fascinating place, a wonderful building with a stunning collection of artefacts. The vibes in the museum are so relaxing. Many hours can be spent exploring all the different sections and beautiful items they have on show for free. I live in Dundee so know the other V&A museum in UK but there is no comparison, the London one is superior in a huge way.

The Beatrix Potter exhibition was really well curated. The information was clear and well presented and gave us a really good idea of the life and experiences that Beatrix Potter had. The drawings, paintings and artefacts were lovely. I felt good when I came away.

When it comes to this museum, two of their chairs (they are in the right-wing) are not what they should be, given what you can reasonably expect of a publicly funded organisation.

I love visiting the V & A. I usually spend 10 AM to 2:30 PM, and visit most of the fascinating galleries. I've attached a photo of the delicious lunch. I can always count on delicious hot foot being offered at the ornate dining rooms.

Hi, can you take food and drink into the V & A? Not to eat while there, but just carrying.

Yes, as long as it is not hot food. I’m less sure about drinks.

Looking to visit the V&A for the Mary Quant exhibition in a few weeks. How much time approx should be set aside to see it all, we will be going on a Sunday and have only gone during the week usually to their exhibitions, so imagine it will be busier. Also how did anyone find the overall exhibition?

tix are most likely for the DIOR exhibit which has an additional entry fee - and are a little challenging to get as the exhibit is sold out online. Alternatively you can queue each day .
