The tower guides are all ex warrant officers and very informative ,the queue to see the crown jewels was so long we didn't bother. But there is much more to see, allow a good couple of hoursto visit.

I pretty much treated TOL like my backyard, during my 3 week long stay in London. Bought the membership so I can have multiple entries. Definitely do the Yeoman's tour, they tell some fascinating stories and lay a background to the place. I did three tours, and my favorite was Clive--he's just the cat's meow, is so witty and funny.... More

Loved my visit to the Tower of London. Always wanted to go. Well worth a visit! Great for familys with young kids as well. Not to busy when we were there. Give yourself at least 3 hours. Really close to tower bridge as well.

What a amazing day out with my family at such an historic place, I enjoyed showing my family from Australia around and I am so looking forward to going again this year to show my granddaughter some of the history of the Tower.

Brief but fantastic visit to the tower, including the beefeater tour by beefeater Jason Woodcock, who was awesome! Very knowledgable and funny, made our visit and experience worth it!! Crown Jewels also good to see and the armoury and small chapel are also not to be missed! Highly recommended!!!

It was brilliant to immerse ourselves in English history during this tour of the Tower. The guides were fantastic, witty and knowledgable. It's not cheap to visit this tourist attraction but it is defineilty worth the money as there is a lot to see and learn about inside. Walk around the walls if you can because they give you a... Well laid out and easily accessible, truly a unique experience. One could feel the history and eeriness. Quite awestruck viewing it all up close. Good value for money and a must for all visitors young and old. Even if you're not until history it's one of the outstanding London landmarks therefore it appeals to all. Not just for tourists, I... The tower of London is one of those attractions that are well worth going to see. In my opinion one of the best things to see was the crown jewels but there are are lot of other things to see other then that. SEE IT! IT'S WELL WORTH THE ENTRANCE FEE!

I visited the Tower of London with my husband pre-children and really enjoyed it. I decide to take them to inject some historical culture plus there is a very good offer for a family membership for 2 adults + 6 children (wow-SIX!!!) giving free entry to several historical palaces that I know we will will enjoy/can visit. We didn't see... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
