Address
Neighbourhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

We enjoyed our time here, it was well worth a visit, albeit quite expensive. Great to see traditional British sights such as the Beefeaters and ravens. The Crown Jewels are well worth seeing.

Waste of time and money
Lots of dead plants and more or less the same flowers all the way round.
Was in and out in 15 minutes.
Seen better at my local park.

Before entering fortress we went through the superbloom specifically made for the queens jubilee. it was simply lovely and way bigger than I thought. Take lots of pictures. When you enter the tower do the jewels first because lines get longer as day goes on. Lots of interesting history with beheadings, tortures and imprisonment. Check out the ravens during the tour...their huge. Beefeater tour is lots of fun. Lots of things to see so you can easily spend 3 hours or perhaps more. Lots of school kids when we were there.

Fabulous experience, strongly recommend you take the BeefEaters tour and give yourself sufficient time to visit all of the exhibits. Come early snd visit the Crown Jewels early as numbers build very early in the day. Expect lots of stairs and narrow passageways, however enjoy moving through history. We did.

This was a fun place to visit. The crown jewels were magnificent. I recommend that you go there first. We went as soon as the gates opened and had no wait, by the time we came out, the line was very long. We brought my dad in a wheelchair. The crown jewels were about the only place that was accessible to him. It was also all cobblestone and his inexpensive, travel wheelchair broke.

Did Superbloom and Tower what a great day….three adults and a six year old had the best time….first was Superbloom in the moat then the Tower itself - self guided - did crown Jewell’s. Wonderful value for money can only recommend

Such a great historical place. You could spend all day here or just 2 hours, it's really up to you. Get a tour from the yeoman warders. Look at the ravens. See the jewels!

Whatever the guide books say in terms of time taken to visit the Tower - at least double it.
Get there early to visit the Crown Jewels before the line gets really long. Marvel at the armour in the White Tower and keep you head on as you see where famous executions took place and prisoners were ensconced. There is some amazing graffiti to be seen which brings the history of the Tower to life. The battlements offer some great views and the Beefeaters certainly know how to tell a very tall tale!!

The best part of our visit was the Yeoman Warder Tours which are free to all ticket holders. It was a 45 minute, well-spoken historical tour of the tower. I recommend seeing the crown jewels first upon arrival, then queuing for these tours next to avoid the crowds somewhat. After the free tour, we knew enough to wander on our own throughout the grounds for a very enjoyable day.
