On a day trip to London, my friend and I decided to take a cycle tour round the city to pass the morning before attending a show at the Royal Albert Hall in the afternoon, and we were so glad we did! We have both been to London several times in the past, but this mode of transport gives a... More

Even though I was the only mad one to brave the cold, Matthew took me on the East End Tour. It was great having my own personal guide. Matthew is a wealth of knowledge and clearly loves what he is doing - even in winter time. Thanks for a great morning.

Spent a lovely 3 hours with Matthew cycling through backstreets, seeing hidden gems, parks, river, all sorts of interesting facts and anecdotes! Good comfortable bikes, provided cycle helmets for us both. Matthew ran the tour for us even though others had cancelled, then recommended an excellent pub (Fox and Anchor) nearby for afterwards when we were tired and hungry!

Perfect way to discover London! In little more than 3 hours you visit all the highlights, and you avoid the sightsee busses and crowded tubes. Besides, it very safe and relax. The tour guide, Mathew, is experienced and will make sure you get nice information.

Great tour and way to explore the hidden sites in London which you definitely wouldn't find by your self. Highly recommended!

A fantastic way to see the other side of London (the real London some might say). The tour includes a quick stop at Brick Lane and if you are quick, you could even snap up a few bargains at the local vintage or designer shops. Highly recommended!

I did a double-header with Matthew - West End in the morning and the East tour in the afternoon. Matthew is experienced, knowledgeable, and charming. I daresay his tour groups tend to be a little smaller than some of the other companies and perhaps a more personalized experience. Highly recommended.

My wife was extremely reluctant to do this, but she agreed to do the East End tour because her brother, visiting from the US, wanted to. I bet her she'd be glad she did it, and to my own surprise, she was! Mathew is a fantastic guide and is a cauldron of knowledge - I didn't expect it, but I... More

We did the East End Tour on Sat 11 Sep with our guide Mathew and it was simply great. So many hidden gems that in the probably 25 times I've been to London never even knew about (and I thought I knew London, hu). The most fascinating story we heard was about Mosley / The Black shirts and the most... More

We took the East End Tour on a Monday am. What a fantastic ride we had, best because the city is not in weekend mode. The Location where you start is a bit hard to find so give yourself a little time to locate if you are not a natural navigator (it is on an Alley like road for storage... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
