Great Spa day
Sep 2021
Had a lovely afternoon at the Spa. Everyone was extremely friendly and we were shown around before our treatments started so that we knew where everything was. I upgraded my facial which left my skin feeling very soft and hydrated. We used both the infra red sauna and the steam room and the pool was lovely and warm. Enjoyed everything about our spa afternoon and will certainly go back.

Massage great, everything else disappointing

My friend had booked this via groupon as a gift, I have been once in the past and loved it!
The massage was incredible as always, although I upgraded my facial and it didn’t really feel any better/different.
However you do get the vibe when they are aware you got the experience via a groupon. Feels like your getting the basic level, you can upgrade your facial and pay extra to sit outside. I was called up for my massage and the lady was gone for around 10 mins, she came back and started asking me questions about whether I had been here before and were I lived. I later found out from another customer that you aren’t allowed to have a group on if you have been before, which I wasn’t aware as it was bought as a gift for me. I really felt like I should be embarrassed that it was via a deal?
The package included afternoon tea which I have to say was awful. Very clearly store bought sandwiches cut up, tasted horrible. And the little cakes were again all store bought and nothing great. We ordered the tea as a drink and I was expecting a pot of tea with milk ect but she just handed me a half mug full of water and a tea bag and told us we had to get our own utensils/milk/sugar… a shame because the massage and facial was nice everything else was just a let down. Maybe would be different if we didn’t use a groupon?

Sack Abi and skip the worse spa in the North West
Sep 2021
This place is a joke and will probably be shut down soon. I feel like I'm just echoing all the below comments about the manager Abby, but she is beyond rude and unprofessional. I have no idea how she made it to be manager but she is ruining the place. While I was there I had a conversation with one of the other staff/spa members who also said they get lots of complaints about her. When I arrived at the spa, it said on my Groupon email that as part of the package I had bought that I would be given a robe, slippers and a towel. When I got there, they said they wouldn't be doing this and that they need to email ask Groupon to 'take it down'. I showed this confirmation re the robe/slippers at the desk and instead of an apology for the mess up on their behalf, Abby shrugged and just said they had 'no towels on site'. They are a spa with no towels on site! They didn't have gowns either but did say I could purchase slippers for £2! The spa itself was super dirty as the pool and seats look like they haven't been cleaned properly in years. To be honest, I think they are just riding it out until they close. The massage was a lot shorter than it was suppose to be too, but by this point I'd just given up. The lady doing my facial said I could pay £10 to upgrade for a better facial, which I did, only to find that Abby later on said it was £12, after I'd been told it was £10. It was a shambles start to finish and no matter how good the Groupon deal, this will not be a pleasant, relaxing experience.

A week ago we travelled over an hour to carnatic spa for a birthday present my mum had got for me. She had purchased us both 6 treatments each with a total of 4 hours in the spa. Because of the travel my mum also paid for us to stay in a hotel nearby so we could travel easily to and from the spa.
The day arrived, we checked into our hotel, the hotel booked us a taxi ready for us to get to our spa day at 2pm that day.
We was on our way to the spa and unfortunately the taxi driver had no clue where he was going. We was eager to get there but tried to remain calm as it was a 4 hour deal and we was told we would be told when are treatments would be on arrival. 2.05pm the spa called....we was 4 minutes away....on the phone the lady asked where we was as our treatments would be due to start, we told her we was 5 minutes away and explained the taxi had gotten lost. To which she replied was fine. We arrived at the spa, got out of the taxi...walked to the rear of the taxi to retrieve our bags and the taxi driver drove off. Could the day get any worse. You'd hope not.
My mum went in the spa to tell them what had just happened. However she was informed we was late and our treatments should of already started. I was offered to have one treatment whilst my mum waited for the bags, however I had no towel or which abi shook her shoulders at me. My mum said that if we was able to use a robe we could maybe have a treatment but was told due to covid that wasn't possible. Although covid measures are now effectively lifted and many spas are now offering use of robes. Anyway. Its now 2.15pm to be informed that we should of been at the spa at 2pm for our treatments to start. We was not told was a 4 hour package, apparently in 15 minutes we would of already had 5 of the 6 treatments. When I questioned this on how it was treatment itself was 25 minutes long she just shrugged and said there's nothing we can do. We was too drained to argue, I asked if there was any way we could get in later....she said maybe at 3pm if the 3pm people don't show. So we waited till 3 and apparently at.3.05 the ladies where coming up the no we couldn't have that slot. No question on their timing. So now it's 3pm we was and still are gutted. I asked was there anything she could do, surely as a gesture of good will, we was 10 minutes late, nope we can use the swimming pool and jacuzzi if we wanted to, for £114 we spent. We said that it was just appalling that was what was offered. To which abby replied well if you was late for the hairdressers your appointment would be cancelled. My mum explained she was 3 days out of hospital a nurse that worked hard for her money like everyone else....what would abby do if it was which she said "just take it on the chin" Really. Over an hours travel a night in a hotel to have a mother and daughter pamper day, for something so minor as being 10 minutes late to be told take it on the chin. My mum asked if she could please speak to the manager as she just felt like if we could re schedule something anything would be better than nothing at all, tomorrow, next weekend, month, year, anything, and she said "I am the manager" She then said we'll you don't need to go in the spa. We considered just going but I know by this point my mum was on the verge of tears, she wasn't well as it was but put on a brave face for my birthday, and she felt like it was ruined. So we decided to go in. It wasn't worth £114 to swim in a pool, go in a steam room, a jacuzzi that was broke. We tried to make the most of it. We ordered 2 jugs of sangria, when we was leaving and went to pay....Abby said how was your day I said it was fine thankyou, wasn't what we came for. She said...did you say it was your birthday today? I said yes.....she said "have a nice birthday thats £30" if that's the management of carnatic spa I would stay well clear. We spoke to two girls in the spa who said they got there before us, there treatments wasn't till 4, and said they would of swapped should they of been asked and could believe how we was being treated. It was clear that she had no intention of doing our treatments treatments had wasn't willing to try for us. Disgusting service from the manager abi at carnatic spa.

Below breakdown of events;
• 4th June first emailed into the Spa to request a booking. Reply received on 11th June. (just within their 7 day response time) possibly acceptable ?
• I replied on 11th June with no response received by 20th June 9 days after my initial email. Not acceptable! So I emailed a 2nd time on 20th June.
• I received a reply to my email sent on 20th June on 29th June. Again 9 days later. Again highly unacceptable!
• I replied to their last email sent on 29th June, on the 29th June and I haven’t heard anything since. The date is now 9th August. So now over 10 days for a reply?

All this emailing back and forth is only trying to make a booking as they don't answer the phones and keep delaying us booking in.

This was bought for a birthday present. I have to express that this is the worse level of service I have ever received from any business, anywhere, to the point that we are now questioning if this is a scam just to take your money and never actually provide a service???
