Walking around the Royal Albert Dock and Pier Head complex is something I enjoy, so much to see, so much to enjoy and so much to take in, great architecture both old and modern and fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants, one of the most iconic structures here is the M & S Bank Arena formally The Echo Arena ,its such an imposing and iconic building ,hosting some of the biggest cultural events in Liverpool its a wonderful venue and with the magnificent success of the vaccines and the tireless work of the health service will soon be bouncing again when this pandemic is finally tamed.
A wonderful building, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Few wearing masks yet was supposed to be full mask event
Dec 2020
Really wanted to support live gigs and staff so went to see The Classic Rock Show - 'Christmas Party' on the 18th of December 2020, despite all the Covid 19 restrictions.
The staff were all very clued up, polite and wearing masks. Plenty of spacing and Covid19 related signage. Seating all spaced out. People going round with spray to sanitise hand rails etc.Music was great.
But in the arena it was supposed to be fully masked event all through the event. But when most people got to their seats they took their masks off or wore them as chin bras. Then standing up and singing and dancing (all unmasked faces spreading any viruses about).
The venue should have stated over the sound system before the start and before the second half that masks must be warn at all times in compliance with the T&C that were applied to the event. But they didn't and I think many people thought it was the same rules as pubs or cinemas where you can take your mask off when you sit down.
Despite costing a lot of money and being our only live gig this year we left before the encore as it did not feel safe and we did not want to be in crowds of people that had all not been wearing masks.

Attraction
Dec 2020 • Friends
The M & S Bank Arena is Liverpool's premier music and entertainment venue and one of the most iconic buildings on the Royal Albert Dock complex, a great venue with a wide variety of events throughout the year ,unfortunate not this year due to the coronavirus pandemic but normally a great place to visit ,its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Liverpool.

Beautiful venue .
May 2020 • Friends
Although to most people in Liverpool it's still referred to as the Echo Arena ,its been rebranded the M & S Bank Arena but it's more or less still the same cool looking venue.
I love the look of this structure, been a few times over the years but as we are in the grip of this coronavirus pandemic visited upon us its currently closed ,walked around the Royal Albert Dock complex before the lockdown, took a few photos of the building before moving on.
Well worth checking out if your in the area.

Music gig

Great venue and very accessible. Parking in and around the venue but can be expensive. Food and drinks quite highly priced ( expected). Please be aware that purchasing seat tickets doesn’t guarantee you seeing the performance as people love to stand.

Killer queen concert
Feb 2020 • Friends
For this event the arena was divided into two. KillerQueen in one half and ABBA in the other half. This worked quite well but found the seating on the floor to be the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat on. I have sat in seats to see ELO when it was the Echo arena and they were comfortable. I have attended many events there when it was the echo arena and I have never attended an event which had a
Interval. Even killer queen said they don’t normally have a interval. I think that this could be the reason we are not seeing the headliners perform there they don’t want a interval. Come on new owners get your act together and start getting the headliners we are used to seeing back. Even Queen and Adam Lambert are not appearing there this year and that is always a sell out show.

bar staff
Feb 2020 • Friends
went to see The 1975 26/2 we were served on different bars by jamie, sophie, Isabelle and ella who were all lovely. At one point, there was a mistake with my order and I was overcharged - but the supervisor quickly sorted this with no hassle.

Great concert venue
Feb 2020 • Couples
Watched The Script here. Great venue, not too big and easily walked to from a choice of hotels. Friendly and helpful staff. Ticket prices reasonable although not sure if that is down to venue or act.

Good venue!
Jan 2020 • Business
We had our New Years work conference for two days: Very well organised and helpful staff for us. Our main hall for the event was small like but intimate enough for a good show!! We also had our evening party there too which was great fun.
If you’re a business interested In hiring this venue then I highly recommend it.
