Situated in the Cavern Quarter at the heart of the city. Liverpool's most famous street not only houses the Cavern Club but numerous references and connections to the "four lads who shook the world" and Liverpool's long musical heritage. There's shopping, bars and pubs, and come summer weekends the street is packed with partying locals and tourists.

This was my third visit but I am always excited to visit again. It was my friend's first visit and she enjoyed it too. We loved having our photos taken with the statues of John Lennon and Cilla Black. It was nice to visit the Cavern for free and listen to sixties music.

The place where the parties have taken place for decades! A historic street. Thanks to bands like The Beatles, The Swinging Blue Jeans, gerry and the Pacemakers and others!

We visited Liverpool recently and did our own little pub tour of Mathew Street. We listed to music in about 6 places, had drinks in a few too & enjoyed ourselves very much. Best bands were at the Cavern Pub and St Peppers.

If you like being surrounded by noisy drinkers, this is the place for you. Almost nothing but bars, some with live music. Lots of shouting people, heavy drinkers. Some Beatles nostalgia.

Mathew Street is the home of the Cavern where the Beatles performed in their early years and has been re-introduced conforming to the original layout. No charge is made for entry, drinks can be purchased but not food. Live entertainment is provided and the atmosphere is amazing, so many nationalities celebrating The Beatles (and other musicians music) Statues of John... More

A street famous for housing the Cavern club and the Grapes pub, both frequented by the Beatles when they were starting out in the 1960s. A statue of Cilla Black has been erected outside the doorway to the original Cavern club, adding to the nostalgia.
