Not the same as it used to be. Too much traffic, it has really gone down the pan. It's very commercial. My birthplace & childhood home is not the beautiful, quaint village it was. Too many property developer's throwing new residences and flats up some not in keeping with the natural, surroundings.

Woolton Village is a fascinating mix of interesting shops, pretty cafes and popular restaurants. There is so much history too and lots of green space to walk the dog or picnic when the weather permits. Visitors would be well advised to do a little research before they come. The village is compact, but there is a lot to see including... More

I enjoyed my visit to Wilton Village today, had lunch in Coast which I recommend, and had a walk around the village. It's small, quaint, steeped in history, worth a Wiki, and you'll enjoy it too if you go.

Went for a stroll around the village whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. We explored all of the backstreets with lots of little mews cottages. There are many lovely houses and buildings made out of the local sandstone . It was a very pleasant walk which gave us a good appetite for our lunch.

There is a wealth of history awaiting visitors to this pretty and affluent village in South Liverpool. The sandstone quarry that once provided the stone for the majestic Anglican cathedral has evolved into a stunning landscape of manmade, deep red cliffs. There is the hall where members of the Beatles once played, historic churches, attractive parkland and much more. Lovers... More
