The Casbah is an absolute gem and it's astonishing that it's not better known. This totally authentic old rock and roll club, home to their first proper drummer Pete Best and family, opened in 1959, and is pretty much unchanged today .It hosted dozens and dozens of Beatle gigs. Fascinating memorabilia , unique atmosphere.Book for a personalised tour with Pete's brother... More

Don't skip this place. Well heading just a bit out of downtown to see an AUTHENTIC piece of Beatles history in the basement of this brick Victorian house opened as a teen hangout by Pete Best's mother in their family home. John, Paul and George even helped paint the decorative Egyptian figures, rainbow ceiling, Cynthia soon to be Lennon painted... More

Well if you like the Beatles this is a must .not many people know about this place unless you're into the band,it's the place they giged with Pete best the original drummer of the Beatles ( there's no real reason out yet why he was sacked) the remaining Beatles don't talk about it but it's a question with a few... First do the sponsored tour inside Mendips and the McCartney home. Then the Casbah Coffee Club should be your next stop! Interiors painted by the Paul, John and even John's girlfriend at the time Cynthia. The Internet is full of photos with the spider web room behind the Beatles as they play, look for the photo of John in his... More

Wonderful time being shown around by Pete Best's younger brother, Roag. This isn't a reproduction (Cavern Club) but an untouched original. This is where the Quarrymen/Beatles got their start. Worth the effort to go and take in a visit.

If you want to know and feel the real sense of wonder and excitement from the days when the Beatles were in their infancy, be sure to visit the Casbah. Roag did our tour. He also did our tour when we visited four years ago. And you know what? He was even more passionate, humourous, and thoroughly enjoyable than he was... More

We arrived here with low expectations (who is Pete Best? what is this place?) and were blown away by the enthusiasm of Roag, Pete Best's 50-ish year old little brother. Pete was the first drummer of the Beatles, before Ringo, and his mother Mona had basically converted her downstairs basement into a coffee club where teens could come hang out... More

The visit is brilliantly casual with original Beatle graffiti and amateurish decoration - everything left as it was in 1959 - such a real sense of history and explained in such an exciting passionate way - an absolute must for any Beatle fan

If you are a visitor to Liverpool and love The Beatles book a tour of the Casbah Coffee Club which was owned by Pete Best's mum. It isn't a cheap tour but is worth every penny. We were shown around by one of the family and he told us about the history and quite a bit more. You can feel... More
