We took a visiting friend to Boston. We had never been before although we knew of "Boston Stump" I had no idea it was such a beautiful church. Although we didn't go up the tower on this occasion I certainly will next time.

Like Lincoln Cathedral, this church has links with the exploration and settlement of both North America and Australia. Look for the memorial to the Lincoln explorers Bass and Flinders, as well as the headstones commemorating the pilgrims. Take the tour of the stained glass windows....More

Returning to Boston after many years a climb up The Stump tower was rewarded with an astounding panoramic view of the town and surrounding fens. A beautiful church, the landmark for invading aircraft in the war it still has the flood marks on the pillars.

This is a parish church of cathedral proportions. The stained lass is magnificent. I wish I'd had more time to spend a longer visit, and to climb the 200+ steps to see the view from the top of "the stump".
