Great range of local shops are on either side of the road and worth a visit. However, there are a number of places where you can stop for refreshments on the way up or down! Most certainly worth the climb.

Park at the bottom, walk up and down again - not the other way round! The uphill slog to get home is very wearying.

Hard work, but the clue is in the name! Well worth a visit climbing up and down. Many fascinating shops and places to have a snack, tea and an ice cream - yes, we done all three!

A great walk, lots of quirky shops and tea rooms. A really nice step back in time, with the prize of teaching the castle and cathedral at the top.

Lots of quirky cafes and shops to browse in. Lots of non-chain restaurants too. Even get a workout the hill is that steep 😊.

Some lovely quaint old shops. Shopkeepers made you feel very welcome. Going down the hill is ok. Coming back up is a killer. Had to stop 3 times

Although it’s got the name steep hill for a reason it’s definitely worth visiting as this is where all the unique shops and cafes are - personal favourites are Yak and BaseCamp
