This could be a lovely campsite if it wasn't for the disgusting state of the amenities block. There wasn't any hand soap, dryer or paper towels and you were lucky if you got loo roll. They did not appear to have been cleaned all weekend. There...More

We went as a date for the day, this can prove difficult as it is shut quite often, The castle itself is picturesque from the outside shrouded in mystery in the shadow of trees up on a hill. The gardens nearest the castle are that...More

Good size car park and quite expensive to get it. Nice walk up to the castle through the gardens and the castle itself is really good, full of interesting paintings and objects.

The guided tour which lasted 1 3/4 hours really added a lot. This is the most stunning castle with fabulous history furnishings and artwork A must see!

We have previously visited and were told by the same grumpy man mentioned in previous reviews that it was closed (despite a brochure we had saying it would be open). This time, we checked online in advance. The grumpy man and his slightly friendlier colleague...More

There's a big space next to the castle. For open days it's only accessible for disabled parking but I imagine for weddings it would be allowed for parking there. There is also main parking at the bottom of the garden but... More
