Blackpool Zoo is a family friendly attraction, providing fun and education for all ages. Situated only 2 miles inland the Promenade, the park is easily accessible from the M55 motorway. Over 1000 animals, birds and reptiles reside in a scenic 32 acre park amidst mature trees, lakes and spacious lawns where the kids can burn off their excess energy. All your favourites are here including big cats, elephants, giraffes, sealions, gorillas, orangutans, camels, zebras and many, many more. Opened in 2014, the new Orangutan Outlook allows visitors to get up close and personal with these charismatic apes. Open daily (except Christmas Day) from 10 am, the park's closing times vary seasonally.

We visited the Zoo on a rainy Autumnal October day. We are 2 adults, and 2 children age 12 and 9. Highlights for us were the giraffes, the elephant, the sea-lions and the big cats. A good day out.

Spent 4 hours at the zoo, great variety of animals and the shows we saw were definitely worth it. Good value compared to similar attractions.

The animals are well looked after and the staff are very helpful. You need a whole day at this zoo. The staff are willing to talk to you and there are lots of room for families.

I can only surmise from your being "aware" of Blackpool Zoo that you haven't actually visited, which is a shame. Whilst we have great respect for an individual's choice not to come along as keeping animals in captivity is an alien concept to them, we...More

I don't normally like zoos, animals should be free & in their natural habitats. Having said that, for some of these animals, due to whatever circumstances, then Blackpool zoo was the best place for them. All animals appeared well cared for, the zoo was clean...More
