a real must see on any trip to windermere is a visit to the steamboat museum. it will suit all ages if theres any interest in boats. i loved it

Quaint little museum, a little out of the way but well signposted.Being undercover it is ideal for a dull, cold or wet afternoon.

Great little museum - nothing else like it :-) Only thing that detracted from our visit was a very angry fan of boats who chastised the children in the museum for enjoying themselves when he was making a video - Ah well. There's always one....More

I visited this museum some years ago . We had an interesting day, including a trip on an old steam launch with tea freshly brewed on the boat's own boiler! It is currently closed whilst they raise funds for a total redevelopment of the site...More

Very interesting - especially to all those Steamboat fans like my husband. Good for a dull day or when it's chilly outside.

Visited this Museum on Heritage open day, as the Museum will not be open to the public until 2014. Shown round by enthusiac supporters, explaining all the exhibits. The refurbishments are costing £10M, so they need all your help.
