Thank goodness I heard about this place - lovely to visit -near Keswick. If you want to photograph it without other people there I guess go early morning or later.
After many visits to Keswick we visited the stone circle, which is actually slightly oval. An information board is present but seems to have been vandalised but some detail can be gleaned. An interesting place to call in.
Though it's a smaller scale when compared to the Stonehenge, Castlerigg Stone Circle is worth visiting. It's easy to get there and the view is lovely.
nice walk over the fields, late evening only person there, quiet and restful, seems that you can park in small quiet lane near by

A very ancient stone circle in a dramatic, often atmospheric setting, It invokes many thoughts of the ancient people who frequented this site. Was it for religious purposes? I guess it was! Visited by all ages

This is a must see it's location is absolutely beautifull in the Vale of St John This is a very well preserved circle has a feeling of peace even when there are lots of people there
