Not been there for years when it was derelict. Great to see the beginning of a route to the mountains busy and buzzing. Activities, cafe slate mine re-opened and great modern clean facilities. Great customer focus. Almost worth the Honister Pass drive

Excellent cover is provided by the canopy outside the cafe area. Enough room for many riders and bikes to shelter from a shower/downpour. Staff also offered helpful advice on the descent of Honister Pass into Buttermere

I wish I had had more time to spend here as the views are incredible. Look up the mountain or look down the valley and you would need to have a heart of stone not to be awed by its savage beauty. Stop for a...More

Came to the mine tour due to the terrible weather, but really enjoyed ourselves. Donald the guide was very knowledgeable, and great at getting children to interact. We don't have children, so this wasn't important to us, but I'm guessing the parents thoroughly appreciated it....More

A rather wet, bleak day to visit but the mine tour was very interesting with a guide who was knowledgeable and passionate about the mine and the life of the miners who toiled there in the past.

Works your body out to the extreme. Very safe and fun activity but you need to have a level of fitness to participate. The instructor was very knowledgeable and pushed you to achieve your best. Would definitely recommend.

Visited with my Mum. We had drinks and a snack. Good choice on the menu. Tasty food and all served with a smile by helpful staff. Comfortable seating and interesting decor with lots of slate.

Yes we have the Kimberley Mine tour that runs daily. It's mainly on the level and is a fairly flat surface. It goes approximately 200m inside the mine. It will involve stooping downwards slightly for approximately 40m. I... More
