We had a great time at the via ferrata classic. The first bit was challenging, climbing on ladders, and rebar stairs across the rock face, and then further up the mountain there was some scrambling and walking along the narrow mine path. It was the perfect challenge for my husband and I, but I think our teenage girls would have preferred the extreme experience as they have no fear of heights. The guide was very good, kept us all motivated and safe, and made an effort to give us information about the history and geography of the mine. The view from the top was fantastic. It was a worthwhile experience.

We really enjoyed the Via Ferrata Classic - not too challenging but not easy either - just right! The weather could not have been better for stunning views - clear sky, bright sunshine & fast jets coming up the valley from below. Our guide, Heather, was great, took some good pics of us all & was knowledgeable about the mine's history. I lost a brand new glove at the top, couldn't find it but later at reception it was returned to me, one of the guides had brought it down - that's some excellent customer service! Will be back to do Climb the Mine next time.

We had a great time Honister. Early October with weather not the greatest for walking hills we decided to give some of the activities Honister Slate mine had to offer. We booked on to do the Via Ferrata Xtreme from our breakfast table that morning for an afternoon session. By the time we arrived the team at Honister decided to cancel Via Ferrara due to weather worsening and instead offered a switch to the Climb the Mine Activity. We jumped at. With the not so great conditions outside it was grand to be inside. The mine had such an interesting cool layout of climbing and walking. As we journeyed deep through the mine it only became better and better. As the weather was wet outside parts of the mine itself were like a river which made for all the more fun and adventure. Our Guide Heather was superb and brilliant leading us through the mine helping and encouraging all members on our tour/group through the various climbs and ladders. My wife and I had great time. Thanks for a great afternoon!

What a day we had it started with the infinity bridge which was such a great experience and even the rain and wind couldn’t dampen the thrill. Then after a coffee we went on the mine tour with Donald which was also great and would most definitely recommend as a day out
