Levens Hall is to be found some 6 miles south of Kendal and just 5 miles from the M6. Entry to the Gardens is currently £9.90 and the House & Gardens ticket is £13.50. Car parking is free although the property is closed on Friday and Saturdays. Although the house dates from the 1300's, the interior is mainly Elizabethan and... More

Amazing gardens, with a lovely old hall attached which is full of history. Worth a visit. However, thought the entry fee was very high and the on site cafe is a bit lacking.

Dear Nigel Thank you for your review of Levens Hall. We are slightly confused because we closed for the winter in October and open again in three weeks, therefore you have taken five months to review us. Just a leisurely garden visit around the gardens and no visit is complete without taking a well deserved break from the plant spotting and bird identifications than a sit with some lovely sandwiches and cake and tea. I would highly recommend a visit to this very well kept establishment it's a rare beauty.

An ideal way to spend an afternoon by exploring award winning gardens plus a historic house with numerous fully furnished rooms to recall an age long gone. If your lucky you may see the famous grey lady at night which local folk law suggests is the ghost of a previous resident. Being ideally placed for easy access to the M6... More

It was a couple of years ago now but they loved the house and especially the gardens. It was a lovely day and we had a picnic in the grounds. Well worth a visit

Fabulous walled gardens to lose yourself in and a perfectly sized house to explore without getting too tired. Friendly informative staff. Join the free garden tour for greater insight. I've passed Levens Hall over the years and can't believe that I've been never been her before. Amazing to think it was hit by the 2014-15 floods.

Took more pictures here than anywhere else on the trip. The topiary gardens were impressive with so many different shapes. Tour of the rooms of the house was very informative given by very friendly docents.
