Great walk to this beautiful location

This is an easy fell walk to a beautiful location. We love the walk by the waterfall and then finding yourself by this lovely tarn.

A fairly easy 5 or 6 mile walk up into the hills. Some rocky areas to navigate so you have to be careful, but nothing major. A bit of elevation gain, but again nothing major. You can make a loop of the walk by crossing the stream which comes from the tarn. Good views of waterfalls and surrounding hills. Stop... More

My partner and I took the main route starting at Grasmere Village. Passing through fields on rocky paths you begin the ascent up the fell. The path is very rocky, however the views are well worth the effort. For most of the way up there is a field wall on your right hand side. Unfortunately for those who hate heights... More

Very easy to follow walk that is fairly accessible for the novice. Once up the tarn is fabulous with plenty of area for a picnic. Great views on the way up and down

We just passed by on the way down from High Raise. You can see it from the Helm Crag ridge too. Previous visit was very overcast - we walked round it and got wet feet!

This is a lovely walk with excellent views. It is strenuous in p,aces but it is worth the effort. We came back on a different route which I would imagine is harder when it is wet. It was extremely dry when we were there.

This is a pretty easy walk for the able bodied but be wary if not as there is some steeper sections but plenty of rest areas at the side of the paths for people to rest and break up the walk. View is absolutely beautiful at the top. Tarn is stunning and area is surprisingly clean despite being quite a... More

Lovely walk with spectacular views. My two beagles really enjoy not too sure about the teens tho lol. Two kids do have a dip in the tarn though.

We did this as part of the coast to coast route. Long climb up from Grasmere, but the path is well defined and slabbed in places. Beware one part early in the climb where the path is subject to a landslide easily negotiated. We are a young (61 and 50) couple so took us a bit longer than the youthful... More
