We undertook this walk twice during our week stay, each time it took approx. 2.5 hours from Grasmere. The walk up from Dove Cottage side is pleasant although steep in parts, but well worth it for the views of Grasmere, Windermere and surrounding lakes. The...More

Nice walk up to the tarn with great views on the way up and from the top. Peaceful place at the tarn to relax. Nice circular route from Grasmere it is quite steep though but worth it.

We enjoyed a circular 4 mile walk up to Alcock Tarn. The paths are well maintained and signage is good and the views across lakeland were great from the tarn.

Views are wonderful, over grasmere village and lake. Not too tough even for me. We had to wade through the stream on way down as the bridge is under repair so waterproof shoes a good idea.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Alcock Tarn 5.5km circuit from Grasmere. The views were excellent and very varied. It is worth reaching the Tarn for a picnic.

My wife and I walked up to Alcock Tarn at about 8:00 am directly from the Daffodil hotel where we stayed. It is a lovely walk which is moderatelt arduous. Well marked paths and great views. Circular walk
