We come up to the lakes frequently as we only live a couple of hours away and always stay near Coniston. The village never seems to busy and the lake is beautiful our favourite part is a the top near monk coniston. Delightful.

Lake Coniston is breathtaking. The scenery all around it is just incredible. There are also a number of activities that you can do on and around the lake, including a variety of boat trips. You can go on the steam gondola, or even hire a boat and go sailing yourself. Seeing the scenery from the lake itself is most definitely... More

We did this trip (the 45 min one) on a cloudy afternoon and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The crew were friendly and shared information about what we could see, without constantly being on the tannoy at all times - the perfect balance! Sitting outside is a must!

We entered a race to run around the lake...a distance of 14 miles. It was brilliant. The race was well organised. The views were good and there was great support. At the finish we had a well earned pint. Well worth a visit.

With a family of Swallows and Amazon fans we came to Coniston Water to find Wildcat Island and other spots from the 1930 book. We had a perfect couple of days exploring around and on the water and playing pirates. It is absolutely gorgeous and we were sad to leave.

As you would expect, Coniston water was fantastic and with Blue Bird cafe on the shores just outside of the town, it was perfect. Good food, quick service and good variety on the menu. Also a good spot for hire of bikes, boat cruise and beach.
