We wanted to go have a look based on recommendation from the National Trust and this spot does not disappoint. It is absolutely stunning. Gorgeous view of the lake and the valley down below. you can hike there or drive (car park free for National trust member). there are also loads of hiking trails.

It is a lovely stroll from Ambleside but the views from the Jenkins crag are very nice. Well worth it.

Picked this walk up from the Guardian as a top ten walk to do. Yes its a lovely walk of about 5.8 miles in but not a stroll through the park. leaving Ambleside at around 13:30 my family and me made our way anti clockwise along lake rd making our way up a long slow climb towards Jenkins Cragg and... Staying at lakes house you can walk up at the side of the house via a lane. This was a pleasant uphill walk approximately one mile up. A bit stoney in the first instance then got better. When you finally arrive at the top the views were stunning of lake Winderemere. The downhill takes about 20-30 minutes. Well worth it... More

Fell across this whilst walking from Troutbeck to Ambleside, good views of the lake and even though it rained all, still found somewhere to sit and have lunch. Well worth a visit.

On a great walk between Troutbeck and Ambleside - but views of Windermere are somewhat restricted because the woodland has grown, Still a great place to visit.

went a bit off the track but eventually found our way back through the woods and the view of Windermere was worth it in the end

Is a view point on the old bridle way walk from Windermere. Pleasant 6 miles but far better views on walk than J.C.

Towards the end of a much longer walk. Worthwhile detour to a secluded viewpoint. Nice place for a picnic if sunny.
