Pearson Park was Hull's first people's park, having opened in 1861. The park comprises a Victorian conservatory which houses a variety of plants and animals as well as a lake, a children's adventure playground, a cafe, formal gardens, an Adizone and a bowling green. The park also boasts a number of interesting historic artefacts including statues of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, a grand entrance archway, an historic drinking fountain, the cupola from the city's old Town Hall and a large monolith in memory of Zachariah Pearson who gifted the park to the people of Hull.

Happened on this by chance, it is a peoples park that is well kept. Saw a man doing wooden sculptures using old trees: worth the visit for that alone: they are really original and exciting. However, overall this is a locals' park and well used...More
