As the micropub trend increases across Thanet, one of the first remains one of the finest. A great place where the simple things count; the company, the care of the staff, and of course, the beer. Each one done well m, and always a really enjoyable visit.

So pleased you enjoyed your visit. I know we are quite basic at the "Conk" but it allows us to concentrate, as you so rightly say, on getting the simple things right. More

A small but friendly micro-pub offering a decent pint of real ale. I have always been made to feel welcome. Highly recommended.

This is a micro pub in what was a old shop slightly out of the town centre. It has a interesting choice of beers and was very welcoming.

Ramsgate is fortunate in having two excellent alehouses, the other being the Hovelling Boat Inn. Colin, the landlord was very friendly and I was fascinated by all of the brewery memorabilia around the place. Super beer, even a Spitfire flew over ;-)

Looked in briefly and found 3 good beers on. Landlord very friendly and just wish it was next to our house at home. Wonderful!

A genuinely superb example of a micropub. Colin, an avuncular advocate of good beer, sells 3 different beers, straight from the cask, along with real cider and wine. Don't expect to get lager here. Its as welcoming as any bar I know - the regulars all say hello when you walk in and its almost impossible not to get drawn... More
