Incredible. The map is amazing as you would not have thought that that amount of knowledge of the world could possibly be collated back then. Helps with Unicorn origin myths too.

worth a visit very well presented and marvelous to see. well explained visually and audio. the cathedral is a beautiful church as well. would recommend visit to area during the 3 choirs festival but you need to book ahead early.

Fascinating exhibits - the chained library literally smells of history... our visit made all the more interesting by the two chaps who explained some of the key points and answered our questions.

I’d say 3/4 hour. But worth doing the Mappa Mundi and chain library. There are concessions for children & families. About the same time the main cathedral. There is an outside and inside Cafe for a relaxing break.
