Gorgeous setting. We chose it for our wedding venue but you can just pop in on certain days to have a look round the house and get a cream tea. Really helpful in the lead up to the wedding and the staff on the day were top class.

Lovely place to pop in and have a Cream Tea in the Orangery, or if weather permits on the terrace. Check their web site for opening hours and note they only take cash or cheques.

As a keen amateur photographer, my "trigger finger" started twitching as soon as we entered the long, shady avenue of lime trees, leading up to this gorgeous house! A white peacock on the left glanced towards us with disinterest, & two horses raised their heads to acknowledge our passing. We parked up in the shade of the car park, which... More

There are many English country houses and parks, but the wide expanse of grounds and the beautiful house at the centre of Avington Park are well worth a visit. Fortunately we went on a lovely sunny day so had plenty of time to walk around the grounds, go on the guided tour of the house to learn the very interesting... More

Grandson gave us as a Christmas gift, a visit to Avington Park, guided tour and cream tea.. Avington Park is only open to visitors on a very limited number of days, and only in the summer - check their website. My wife is disabled, and grandson had made sure that they were prepared for our visit. We were courteously allowed... More

I spent a lovely afternoon visiting the house and grounds. We had a picnic before our tour at 2.30pm. The guide was very good and made the tour interesting. The grounds are lovely to walk around. We did not stay for tea.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to us. We would love for you to come again but I am sorry we don't normally allow picnicking within the grounds due to insurance cover. Picnics can be taken in the parkland opposite the house where there is also a car park and stunning views of the house. More

I met some of my family at Avington for a couple of hours as it is halfway between our houses. I think the word 'Charming' covers our visit. The tour was so interesting especially as Avington was a retreat for Charles the second, along with his lady friends. I love that sort of history. Take a look at the painting... More

We got free entry with our HHA membership, but there's not a lot there if you paid full price. Check their website for opening days and timing of the limited guided tours. Luckily we arrived just in time to take the 2.30pm house tour, which lasted around an hour. The house was interesting and the church in the grounds is... More

I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy coming to Avington. We don't like to think that our visitors go away feeling disappointed. We think that you could spend 2 - 2 and half hours here if the weather is good and you take a visit to the church as well as the tour of the state rooms in the house followed... More

An Afternoon at Avington Park to wander to the river and round the house, trying to avoid the peacocks and ending with a cup of tea in the conservatory. Don't miss the Georgian church of St Mary's with its box pews and barrel organ
