Overview
More
As you arrive at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the stunning sleek, black lines of Britain's first iron-hulled, armoured warship, take your breath away. Warrior, launched in 1860, was the pride of Queen Victoria's fleet. Powered by steam and sail, she was the largest, fastest and most powerful ship of her day and had a profound effect on naval architecture. Warrior was, in her time, the ultimate deterrent. Yet within a few years she was obsolete. Restored and back at home in Portsmouth, Warrior now serves as a ship museum, monument, visitor attraction, private venue and more. Open all year round, we invite you to experience her for yourself. Open daily from 10.00am except 24th, 25th & 26th December

Seeing the Mary Rose, The Victory and The Warrior in a day along with a Harbour tour glimpse of today’s Royal Navy is really fascinating. It feels like you see history evolving as your visit progresses. Great fun.

We went on a guided tour - you need to arrive 30 mins before as they are always booked up and only take 20 at a time but guides, many volunteers are so knowledgable and make the hour plus tour very interesting

HMS Warrior is a superb example of the transition from sail to steam and wood to iron. The fittings internally and "living history" displays bring the whole to life. Add this to the Mary Rose and HMS Victory to make a day with the Royal...More

Great place to visit for anyone with the slightest bit of interest in British history. You wander about the boat and free access to most parts. Very interesting!

I know the gates of the dockyard close about 5 pm ish and I'm sure like most it will open at 10am. As a rule I always go with open from 10:30 and last tours are at 4pm in summer months. It has always worked for me
