Nice area for food and drink

Plenty of places to eat and drink around here. It comes alive after pier concerts and at weekends. Taxi rank nearby and beach also nearby. Easy to find.

Lots of unique shops around, as well as the library. Particularly like the beer + wine shop! It's a little run down still and feels like there's more to do, but slow down as you stroll through. You may see something you like.

There are many reasons to visit Hastings. This area is not one of them. Despite several businesses trying very hard to give it a lift, this is not an area I feel comfortable in late at night. It seems to attract rather too many young men who are high on alcohol or other substances for my liking. There are some... More

A subtle but vibrant vibe here around the Claremont Triangle - offering a few quirky , full of history and specialist independent shops offering anything from whole foods, to basic cafes, library, restaurants, wine bars to community arts cafe - well worth a stop off

In danger of getting a bit Hoxton, but fortunately without too many beards and tossers. The area for cool new start up shops, hairdressers, restaurants and gallery spaces. Coming to life after years of decline. Interesting history as a self styled temporary rebellious state of USA. A couple of outposts from Shoredich stores have opened up in the last months.

I can't quite work this out other than it has a very strange historical past. If I was a policeman, I'd say, "move along, there's nothing to see here" but I'd be miss selling this quaint piece of Hastings history. This tiny trinity of streets form a triangle where you'll find the public library and an assortment of independent shops... More

Real history, that you can relate to. Learn what the underdog did for himself/herself. Some on the businesses that were started here have only recently stopped trading.

OK, so this has the plaque telling the history bit, but apart from that there's nothing to get excited about. A few cafes, nail bars, shops and that's it. Just a place to get through ASAP.
