Still an interesting gruesome experience, just a shame some of the cells have been removed or used for storage for town hall. In the charge office one of the inspectors was murdered by a criminal with a fire poker.

I visited the old police cells briefly as I was a guest at a wedding there. They were fun to go to. You could see old police uiforms including the white helmets formerly worn by Brighton Police.

Interesting selection of old police equipment used in Brighton.truncheons , various types and eras , also helmets . There is a cell and a few books and other pieces of police equipment .

Phil gave our group a very entertaining guided talk. Full of amusement, history and interaction. A very worthwhile visit of an hour and we could have spent longer. Lots to see.

Worth a visit but not for the faint hearted, couldnt wait to get back home! very good value for money though and educational. Learning about the families of famous murderers in the 60s and 70s and where they live sends a shiver down your spine...More

I think that parts have access and parts do not ,being down stairs .

Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday in summer season.Access is by pre-booked guided tours at 10.30 am But you can often walk in and join the group at that time. It is volunteer run. To book your place in advance telephone... More
