I'm told there is more to this than meets the eye so maybe I should have hung around a bit longer and investigated but I only saw the obvious and took an opportunity for a selfie with the doughnut in the background. Does that sound sad haha. However I do like all art and free expression and it does attract... More

I haven't looked deeply into this feature but I found it quite unremarkable. I did wonder if it was meant to echo the shape of the moving observation platform on the i360 tower nearby but find it hard to take seriously as a work of art.

The best place to view the pier in Brighton, IMHO, bit of an odd, tauroid, protuberance. but loveable none the less. there's many an hour I've gazed betwixt its turquoise folds.

The 2.2 tonne bronze structure is actually a work of art by Hamish Black, entitled 'Afloat'. It is actually a globe of the Earth, if you look carefully you can see shrunken shapes of the major continents, but the north and south poles are pushed together through the sphere, forming a central hole where they meet. I do appreciate free... More

It's just a large Doughnut, there's really nothing more to it than that. On the plus side it's a pokestop!

At the end of the day it's a stone doughnut sculpture, nothing to write home about but good for a funny photo opportunity

This huge metal Doughnut sculpture stands out on a jetty from the promenade to give you a view of the horizon. Makes for a good photo and also a good location to look towards the i360.

The sea draws (most of) us; and this ornament / sculpture has it's own allure - but only when you get close; in fact it gets more interesting the closer you get to it!? A take on the world / globe as we know it only through the eyes of a 'doughnut'!

This sculpture does look slightly odd when seen from afar, not really meant to be a doughnut, but all to do with a black hole apparently. But hey, art is a personal thing and it's good to encourage local artists to enhance the public areas.
