This dinosaur museum is not worth visiting- as so many others have pointed out. Even if it was for free you would think the educational value is so limited that it is simply disappointing.

Whilst interesting, if you are an avid reader, I felt that there could have been more activities or more informative displays that were aimed at a younger audience. A couple of the displays didn't work and you couldn't hear the answers to the questions. A bit manic trying to fit so many families in such a small building. I really... More

We went today having looked on the website. We were expecting a fabulous trip out to experience some great exhibits. We were very disappointed. There was a quiz to do, our 11 year old pointed out the poor grammar, and poorly asked questions. The displays were poor and dated. We left after 40 minutes that included the gift shop and... More

Based on The Dorchester Dinosaur museum being advertised everywhere and supposedly having won awards we decided to visit. Two adults and two children, 4 and 6 years of age. £24.99 for a family ticket, supposedly average time spent there as being 1.5hours. What a rip off. Not worth the money or time. Both boys were bored after about 5 minutes.... More

Thought this would be an ideal visit for my 6 year old son. Unfortunately it was for me a disappointment with little to see, my son said, and I quote "almost good", it is ideal for a quick visit with youngsters but don't expect too much. The gift shop was dinosaur related and a definite plus point, would kill an... More

I have been here for school trips twice now and loved it. It has a small museum but has lots great interactive things to do. The staff are friendly and you also have a little shop. Good for schools but also just for small visits.

We took our twin Grandsons here and expected to experience something really special. Well how disappointed were we. It is fortunate that our grandsons were only 4, and therefore excited to see dinosaurs full stop, and they had no real expectations to do otherwise. But as adults we felt that for the price we would get more than we actually... More

I took my young grandson and he happily spent over an hour examining every exhibit and every interactive thing. I personally found it tedious and overpriced but my grandson still talks excitedley about this visit many weeks later...but he is a real fan of dinosaurs.

A complete waste of my pension. The County museum is by a country mile far better value. I cannot recall such a disappointing experience anywhere in the U.K.

Excellent - old school approach to showing a very wide range of fossil casts and putting them into context - no gimmicks and riveting to anybody wanting to learn more about dinosaurs
