I visit this park very regularly in the summer months with my wife and our 3 year old. The park has so much open space, slight gradients perfect for learning to ride a scooter or a bike. Open grass space for football, rugby, badminton, cricket etc, also a court for basketball. A bbq area (yes youre allowed bbq's in this... More

I have played numerous games of football here. My son has played in the well-equipped park and loves it here. There is also a freedom fields festival here which is really excellent and free.

Lovely park with a perfect sea view giving a great impression of the old town and seaport. Sitting on a bench catching the setting of the sound, Staddon heights the older houses and church spires. It may sound weak but the steady improvements made to this park including the shelter the lavatories and most effectively the period railings rounding it... More

A well named park where you can sit and look towards the sea and the old town while remembering the battle of Freedom Fields where the royalist troops were seen off by the brave citizens in a short series of skirmishes and worse.
