Very informative and educational, with lots of information and funny facts on marine life. There are videos showing the efforts of the staff to help fish maintain a healthy life in captivity and the very useful information about breeding exotic fish in captivity. They also have a nice display of marine photography, with some really spectacular images. But the best part... More

First time we've been in a while and this trip was a special out of hours one which meant it was less busy. The staff were friendly and very informative and we saw some things not normally on show. It took us just over an hour to go round but normally I suggest allow at least 2 hours or more... More

The staff are wonderful; both informative and helpful when need be and exceptional with smaller children. I went with a group of friends (all late teens) and it was a good laugh. It's located in a good area of Plymouth, just across from the Barbican so it helps to be a big day out. The attraction itself was good, but... More

The amount of effort the staff put into the aquarium is amazing. All the fish are great to see and learning new, exciting facts. I just felt that it all goes a bit quick and you don't quite get your money's worth. However if you are a really big marine enthusiast then it's a great place to go and highly... More

Kids really enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and showed my children loads of interesting facts. Entrance fee is for an annual pass, and they enjoyed themselves so much, they want to go back in a couple of days.

This is a massive building on the outside in the Barbican area of Plymouth. Whilst it was quite educational and informative, it was also lacking any spectacular fish. Having been to the Deep in Hull, this is rather disappointing. I didn't see any large sharks or rarer species of fish and inside it was quite small. Nevertheless, like all acquariums,... More

The Aquarians are large packed with all the Atlantic species and interesting with lots of information as you would expect. The highlight for my daughter and me was the young researchers from the university who were delighted to act as guides and give impromptu lectures and demonstrations. Fantastic!
