Carvery and Walk

Very busy popular carvery, get there early to avoid the queue. Honest, good country food, will be coming back for sure. Lovely location

We stopped for lunch here on our way down to Cornwall. The bar man was quite abrupt saying that if we wanted to eat we better be quick (!) but we chose quickly and the food was delicious. Best chips I have tasted for ages!! Hubby said his pie was the best he had ever tasted. There was a good... More

We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime based on its great location and were really pleased we did. The staff were welcoming and helpful and pointed out the great selection of local drinks and specials in the food menu. There was a fire glowing in one of the fireplaces and plenty of choice of seating although it quickly filled up. While... More

I went with my daughter and two very young grandchildren. We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were friendly and food very tasty - I had a sticky toffee pudding to die for! My daughter has chosen the pub and location for her wedding reception - you can't give a higher recommendation than that.... More

Visited today with friends and had a lovely lunch. Lots of choice on the menu and special boards fully licensed bar but teas and coffees too. Food was very tasty , staff were courteous and helpful. Lovely setting would love to return and do one of the walks on offer. A real gem!

We did a 2 hour Circuit and found this at the end! What a beautiful beautiful location. And what a little gem of a pub. We ordered two baguettes and some. Cheesy chips. Very tasty indeed. Seemed to be good quality produce. I agree with other comments about the decor, our table was very wobbly! And the bathroom was abit... More

We are local and have walked through to Fingle Bridge many times. We had always thought the staff to be friendly and kind. However on New Year's Day we suffered the wrath of a moody, unfriendly waitress. She's in the wrong job. She has ruined all the good experiences we have ever had there and we will never go back.... Only ever visited once before so decided to go for Sunday lunch at the last minute. What a fantastic decision. We had 2adult carverys and 1 child's carvery. The beef and pork where the best I've ever had in a carvery and the vegetables where very fresh. They even made a nut roast and vegetable gravy for my daughter. The... More

Loved our visit here. We met family and friends and were a very large party. It was managed really well with a menu that had something for everyone and majority of it was fresh and home-made. Staff were exceptionally busy as it was the holidays and the pub was full to the rafters! They coped admirably - we'll done you,... More

We visited the pub for lunch after a wonderful walk through the Teign gorge from Chagford. It's a fabulous location with no competition for some distance. And that is evident from the service provided. The cheese baguette was sprinkled with grated cheddar, no chunk of cheese here! The pub was very busy indeed, it needs some competition to raise the...
