Staff are nice but hopeless. I was really looking forward to a nice cappuccino but all they had was filtered coffee. Lady serving downstairs advised me to go upstairs to the restaurant for cappuccino. Went upstairs but was told exactly the same thing...only serving filtered coffee. We finally settled for 2 x filtered coffees and 2 x kitkats which cost... More

I last ate at the Northcott over a year ago, when it was chaotic. But under the new regime it is superb. Delicious, beautifully-presented, top-notch food, well-organised restaurant and very good staff. A lovely enhancement to the theatre experience. And thank you for providing a coat rack! A great night out.

My husband and I went to the Northcott Theatre on Friday 4th November and saw the excellent play "Dead Sheep". Comy seats in a small and intimate theatre; we enjoyed the play and atmosphere very much. We had arrived early at about 6:30 and thought we would have a drink. The bar downstairs, just past reception wasnt open at that... More

Not easy to find but plenty of parking and comfy seats. Good service at the bar but only seemed to have local drinks.

I've visited this theatre over the last 15 years and seen its rollercoaster of ups and downs. Its currently on an up! The performances are really good quality, with a good range of genres. I love the smallish size of venue, sit near the front and you're among the action. I always sit on an aisle seat or front row... More

Visited with a group of friends intending to have lunch prior to the matinee performance. Having collected the tickets we went to the counter to order. On asking about sandwiches we were told sorry we've run out - could we have starter's as a light lunch - no we are fully booked - if you want lunch there are plenty... More

Hi Dianne, We're sorry to hear of your recent experience at the Exeter Northcott. Because of the limited seating in the restaurant we encourage advanced booking as we do sell out very quickly. This is stated on our website. The latest seating we could possibly do before a 2.30pm matinee show would be 1.30pm. This is to allow all guests... More

Would we go back is always a good question & yes, we've already booked for another show. Its nice to park for free so close by. We booked to eat at 6.15 for a 7.30 show, but I would recommend 6.00 next time as the service wasn't that fast. The food was nice and the prices are very reasonable. An... More

The shows are fab and varied and the food and drinks are excellent value for money. Worth booking for food before evening performances.

The Northcott has an unusual layout, in that all rows of seats are banked. This means all seats have a good view and when sitting in the front row you feel like you are almost on the stage. The seats are comfortable and the atmosphere intimate. Under Paul Jepson the theatre is producing some of its own shows and the... More

Last minute booking. Told lunch was sold out. However, they kindly made room for us and we were very glad they did. What a treat. Salmon starter and soup were wonderful. Then ham hock and mustard mash really tasty. I would recommend to all, but book first; the seat looking over the university look great. 👍
