The Cygnet Company Theatre is a wonderfully small auditorium where you can watch the skills of young actors (18-35). It is within an old church building. Arrive early to collect your tickets (you can telephone ahead and collect and pay at the door) and you can refresh yourselves with a soft drink or a glass of wine. You are allowed... More

I have been visiting this place for several years. There is something fresh and interesting about it, and an atmosphere of hope and expectation that make a small scale theatre experience unusually good. The reportoire is at its best when it is ambitious which it generally is. I have always enjoyed seeing actors develop their skills over time. It is... More

The Cygnet production of Twelfth Night was an excellent evenings entertainment. A young cast, some playing more than one character brought a freshness and vitality to the story and performed with skill, energy and a real feeling for the play. The setting was simple in the "black box" that is the theatre space and it was all the better for... More

I have been supporting the drama school which not unlike a rep company for about 25 years and love seeing the actors coming in on their first year and watching them over the three year course. There are always productions either being prepared or being performed for a live audience. The auditorium can change seating from one production to the... More

The title might sound true or clichéd, but it's true: I genuinely believe that many of this little drama school's graduates are destined for great things. Its a pleasure to watch them progress through their three years of training, and see their skills and confidence honed to a keen edge. I began going to see Cygent shows to support a... More

We have seen a variety of productions at Cygnet over the last two years. They have been innovative, creative and very entertaining. It is a unique establishment for training actors, as the students perform in front of an audience from the very start of their course. Highly recommended, deserves to have better recognition.

Over the past three years I have made many trips down to see the wonderful Cygnet drama school productions. Not only is the talent and teaching outstanding, but the theatre itself has an irresistible charm. I was warmly welcomed each time and treated to many excellent productions. Thoroughly recommend a trip to Cygnet. All the best to the 2014 graduates,... More

This lovely little theatre is about 10 minutes walk away from our home; so easy to keep in touch and pop in to see what they are up to. One of the most memorable plays we have seen was "The Importance of Being Earnest". The production is done on the flat, so to speak with elevated seating along one side... More

Cygnet Theatre is first and foremost a Drama School. Its students act as the in house company showcasing their talents as they train to be professional actors. For anyone who is interested in seeing the UK's next big thing in terms of acting, its a wonderful place to go. The theatre is small with a family feel and you are... More
