A great walk along the coastal path. Plenty of stunning views. A lot of up hills so wear good shoes.

Lovely walk, and the church a dreamy very pretty one. The views from here as good as it gets.

Overview
More
A high-level 4.2 mile walk on the South West Coast Path around the cliffs above the mouth of the River Dart, where medieval monks kept a light burning in the chapel to let sailors know where the rocks were. Small birds call from the bushes and seals haul out on the rocks around the headland. Allow time for exploring the history around Dartmouth Castle, Warfleet Cove and Gallants Bower.

The car park is easily located and is on both sides of the road. There is an honesty box for parking payment. A really informative notice board to clarify the different paths you can take. The views are amazing; such a beautiful location.

Did this walk a few weeks ago. It was beautiful with stunning views and an ideal stop at the castle. I'd recommend doing it in the summer though as in Feb it was SO muddy!!

We did this walk in late October and were blessed with warm weather and a gentle sea breeze. The walk takes you past the castle and coastguard cottages to a track with a stone wall either side. Eventually the track meets a road and takes...More

We started from Little Dartmouth car park, and walked "the wrong way", tackling the cliff slopes on the way out and returning along the top path, known as the Diamond Jubilee Way. It's a good walk even for those with walking difficulties, but the usual...More

This was a lovely walk. There are several options of paths/routes to take. I would rate the walk here as moderate. It is hilly in places and it was quite muddy and slippy when we did the walk. Beautiful views and well worth doing. The...More

Park at Little Dartmouth, and take the circular walk, commencing through the gate at the end of the car park heading for the coast. Keep following the coast path and you will eventually arrive via a lane at Dartmouth Castle. From here you can carry...More
