Take this extraordinary glimpse into the beloved holiday home of the famous and much-loved author Agatha Christie and her family. The relaxed and atmospheric house is set in the 1950s, and contains many of the family's collections, including archaeology, Tunbridgeware, silver, botanical china and books. Outside you can explore the large and romantic woodland garden, with a restored vinery, wild edges and rare plantings, which drifts down the hillside towards the sparkling Dart estuary.

My wife and I took the steam train to the "Greenway Halt" and then walked the woods path to Greenway, which is a neat way to get there and gets you into the 1920's Christie mood. The house is furnished as though she were still there. The effect is warm and relaxing and you can easily understand why Agatha Christie... More

We visited on a very rainy day. Thankfully we saw the shuttle to get us to the house, otherwise we would have been even more soaked. The guides were completely at sea with this situation and everyone had to walk back though the hall with their dripping coats to put them on a table at the back. I am an... More

Such an interesting house in a beautiful setting on the Dart. A really fascinating insight into Agatha Christies life, at least that part of it spent in her holiday home. Very helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff opened our eyes into how life was lived by those privileged enough. Beautiful gardens with the trees in magnificent colours leading down to the... More

A superb house to visit particularly if you are an Agatha Christie fan. The house is still furnished which makes it more interesting as a home. The grounds are beautiful although a long way down to the river Dart but worth it.

A very interesting house, with pleasant gardens, & overlooking the River Dart, & informative via everything inside. Not as old as some NT properties but that difference adds to the whole NT experience. We also had a cup of coffee before our tour of the house & a light lunch later - not a vast selection for lunch but adequate.... More

This house feels just like Agatha Cristie and her family have stepped out for a while. The home has been preserved beautifully and is another interesting NT delight. It was wonderful to sit on the lawn, overlooking the river Dart imagining what life would have been like. Sadly, the cafe is attempting to be very eco friendly by serving everything... More

...if you can stand the ridiculously narrow roads to get there and back. Much work and money was expended by the National Trust to shore up the corner of the house and the year long effort to make the interior look exactly like it was when Agatha Christie lived there. The extensive garden provided a very scenic walk. At least... More

Apart from the poor signs from the track everything else was enjoyable. We ended up at the river! Lovely autumn colours in the trees and a pleasent garden to romp round. As for the house it was good to see a lot of the original family items. Self service guides just right with helpful staff and volunteers. To top it... More

Greenway is a place filled with history and is set in a beautiful location. A place that must be visited. There is stunning walls and little hidden treasures like the air raid shelter which is eerie in its self. With visiting in Autumn the colours were amazing and the gardens where still in bloom.

For AC aficionados this is a must. Both the house and garden are worth a visit. Greenway can be difficult to find and it's a long walk from the car park but all this doesn't matter once you reach the house. If you are planning on doing both house and garden you will need to allow a few hours as... More
