Walked today from Dartmouth to Blackpool Sands in lovely sunshine. The beach was a disappointment. Nothing compared to the lovely beaches in Jersey. Also, if you are planning to build a sandcastle this is not the beach for you.

We've taken the family to Blackpool Sands since the children were young and always enjoyed our days there. In parts, the beach slopes away quite steeply but it's just a great place to be. The Venus Cafe is always worth a visit while you're there....More

Long beach excellent for walking especially if you have a dog (out of season). Shingle not sand so forget the bucket and spade. Cafe open which was a bonus for tea and loos. Public loos locked!

Pleasant beach to stroll along on a wet and windy day. I had been pleasantly surprised to discover earlier in the day that 2 hours free parking is fairly easy to find in the centre of Dartmouth, but at Blackpool Sands in mid October all...More

Beautiful shingle beach with a stunning cafe and a cafe for dogs with comfy cushions for dogs. Big car park, very clean toilets & shower block. In the warmer months you can hire kayaks. Plenty of dogs having fun.
