Didn't really go into the church. Didn't figureit was open. Were there for the views and to our luck, there were no crowds! Yeah! We went back at Sunset for the amazing views. Given the earlier reviews and the crowds, we must have just gotten...More

The church, the grounds, and the views are still spectacular, but the crowds just ruin everything about Tintagel for me on this visit. I was in the church meditating with one other person and BANG! In comes some old Italian ladies just blabbering as loud...More

May 6, 2017 - While touring around Tintagel, our guide took us to see St. Materiana's Church. The Church exterior is an example of a Norman area design with some Saxon features. It received a new roof during the late 1800s which also changed its...More

This church is located a few minutes walk from the upper kiosk at Tintagel Castle and you approach it vis the stunning cliff walk. It is picturesque and interesting though hardly an exceptional church. There is a booklet of its history for £1. The Norman...More

This church is located in a truly spectacular setting high up on the cliffs at Tintagel. The church is ancient with a splendid interior, especially the stained glass windows. There are truly ancient gravestones and a dry stone wall forms the perimeter of the sight....More

A lovely church to visit. Very "high" Church - i.e. Votive candles in front of a statue of the Virgin Mary and a side chapel with 'reserved Sacrament'. Also located very high! Fabulous views all around.
