We were 'between' exhibitions in the main galleries, but the part that was open was very interesting with its smallish collection of mainly portraiture painting and LOTS of local interest offerings in a varied and wide-ranging exhibition of the delightful minutiae of Penzance. The coffee...More

Always friendly, good coffee and yummy cake. The gallery is well worth looking around, though it used to be free on Saturdays. Its a shame it still isn't. Never mind it is worth the fee.

Unusual paintings and I liked the creative writing beneath the art which had been inspired by the paintings. Welcoming informative gallery. There's also a great cafe.

The Penlee House Gallery is friendly and welcoming, with some excellent paintings by the Newlyn School. They also have temporary exhibitions. The John Armstrong exhibition was very good. I agree that the cheese scones in the café are delectable (see earlier review). The Art Pass...More
