I understand the dark and cosy bit, however it was very very dark, couldn't see the food! Cheap frozen sawdust dry Chips, not very traditional!! Dry overcooked fish bites, dry overcooked chicken, poor value and poor quality....certainly not worth going if you like good chips and good food.

Been coming to the Meadery for thirty years or so. Regular visitors. This one has gone seriously downhill. Most of the main dishes were microwaved quality. Little in the way of options (in fact none, beyond a plain green salad) for one of our party who was gluten-free. Service was appalling & also grumpy. Food was 4/10 at best. They... More

Has fallen down the bucket. Who wants to listen to hardcore extreme when eating a meal? ! The waitresses were shrieking and shouting and messing around. Me and my partner were sat next to eachother facing a wall when there were clearly more seats available. The food menu was tiny and little looked appetising. I think prisoners eat better. When... My partner and I love this Meadery. We generally opt for the take away option as a treat but have been into eat on occasions too. Each time we have never been disappointed. Truly Cornish food. The food is always delicious and plentiful. The staff are a credit - they always make you feel welcome and smiles all round from... More

We return to the Waterside every time we are here. My other half has been coming to this place since he was a kid. The menu hasn't changed and the food is good old honest grub! We always know what we are having, Breaded Mushrooms, Scampi and two Chicken in the Rough with 50/50 chips & salad. followed by desert.... More

Well where to start? The staff amazing the atmosphere out of this world. Think with it only being lite by candles and being dark etc makes it even better. The food is all cooked fresh and to die for eating with your fingers is just something so unique to the meaderys. I really don't know what coating they put on the... More

My husband and I went for our anniversary meal (it was my husbands first time) we both had scampi and chips with mead to drink. The meals were plentiful and piping hot. We couldn't fault the food or the service. We would definitely recommend
