I'm James Flood, I'm 28 from South Wales, and my love for Freedving has dereived from my passion for Fishing. Back in 2010, I took up the sport of Spearfishing (after rod an line fishing since i was a kid) off the Gower Peninsula and beaches of West Wales. When I was little it was my dream to be a mermaid and when I was doing a google search on unusual things to try I stumbled upon this mermaid course. Although not on the cheap side as it was a whole day's course I thought it would be worth it. I was right! We started the course promptly and... More

We went into the shop to book on a seal snorkelling trip and were greeted by James. He was great and informed us that there would be no seals the weekend we were here as the tides were at the wrong time. Thought this was very honest of him as most companies would take the money, knowing that there would... More

I got brought the one day mermaid course for my 21st birthday so we travelled down to Newquay for the course. The instructor, Ian, was very friendly, knowledgable and patient! We started off with breathing theory which was easy to follow and understand which is good! We then got into the pool (where we had a private section) and paired... More

The free dive trip to Mexico in June 2016 will be the highlight of my year. The 7 days I spent with the group was packed full of diving and other experiences I felt like I had returned from travelling for 3 months. Freediving in Mexico compared to the UK has a lot of benefits including, warmer water, better visibility,... More

I joined FreediveUK for their Freediving Trip to Mexico in June. I had never been diving with them before as I don't live in the UK and I found them online by pure coincidence while reading an article on how to improve static breath hold that Ian wrote some time ago. As soon as I read the description of the... More

A thoroughly amazing trip - I'm still in denial that I'm back in the UK! After a long annual work slog I decided to book a week's trip to Mexico with Freedive UK - this officially counts as the best decision I've made this year. Now, this trip isn't for the types that prefer a 5* all-inclusive holiday in the... More

Extremely enjoyable and informative two day course. Achieved the AIDA 1* free diving qualification and learnt the necessary skills for spearfishing. Our instructor, Ian, was very knowledgable and an excellent teacher. Having completed the course I now feel very confident in going out by myself.

Still buzzing after this great course I gifted myself with :-) was interested in freediving and getting to swim as a mermaid so this 1 day course was a great introduction to both. We went through freediving technique in the morning and then had some fun in tails in the afternoon. Eager to learn more and improve with freediving as... More
