The weir was built in 1093 and is Grace I listed, not a great deal else to add but could it be the only Norman part of Chester city centre?

Just beautiful to sit an watch the water flow past. The weir gives a spectacular sight especially if viewed from the walls. With well places ice cream shops this is a sunshine hotspot. Take the time & walk that extra distance down to the river...More

We missed out on taking a boat ride, they end at 5pm, but we were still able to rent a paddle boat and take a short ride on the river. It was lovely.

We opted for an half hour trip down the river. It was so warm and the weather was perfect. We really enjoyed the commentary and the beautiful houses we passed. So relaxing after the shops.

Early morning. Sun trap and stop for a cup of tea. Lovely and peaceful and worth climbing up on the walls to get best view of the river.

Really scenic river in heart of the city. Stunning buildings flank either side of the river. Very busy riverbank with lots going on.

So much activity in a relatively small space . Leisurely stroll along river watching the rowing club , the tourist boats and the smaller family craft . Great

The trip said 30 minutes each way on the boat, I didn't think that would be long enough, but I was wrong. Lots of information given on the outbound and return trip regarding what you could see and history given on the various areas. Very...More

Alongside the river, the walk leads you next to the Roman City Wall. There are views of the old arched bridge and the newer suspension bridge. You can walk on past the castle, take a boat trip or turn into the city.
