More
The Stained Glass Museum offers a unique insight into the fascinating history of stained glass, an art-form that has been practised in Britain for at least thirteen hundred years. Our permanent gallery displays over 125 stained glass panels representing eight hundred years of the history of this ancient art, from the thirteenth century to the present day. All the stained glass panels in the gallery are displayed at eye-level enabling visitors to have a rare close-encounter with the art of stained glass. Temporary exhibitions are also held throughout the year, highlighting panels and designs from the Museum's reserve collection.

A fascinating insight into glass makiing and some lovely examples of glass on display. I would have prefered to see more early glass on display as I do not enjoy modern designs but that is a personal thing . There are quite a few medieval...More

This is part of the huge cathedral complex. It shows wonderful coloured glass from centuries all telling their own story.

If bundled into the cathedral tour, this could be fine, but on its own terms this museum is definitely a disappointment. Most of the glass they have on display is Victorian: if experiencing every variety of Victorian stained glass suits you, then by all means,...More

Amazing display of stained glass windows and panels dating back some 800 years and they really are magnificent and so worth a visit. The collection in the museum consists of some 125 examples.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the museum. It's smaller than expected and seemed to concentrate more on modern windows rather than the medieval church windows I was expecting. However there was a lot of information to take in. There is currently some work being...More

This is an exhibition of stained glass art over several centuries for connoisseurs and those just interested in art. It’s a bit of a climb to access it but worth the journey. And it’s not all religious imagery with some exhibits from 19th and 20th...More
