interesting mechanical clocks and instruments, a view over the progress of science through the years. I find these old instruments fascinating, thinking of all the ingenuity and knowledge of the subject matter involved.

I viewed this museum directly after being in the Fitzwilliam Museum and I'm sorry to say that the quality of the information in the Whipple Museum is markedly poorer. This said, it is still a very interesting museum. I didn't see it at its best...More

A nice collection and well presented. I prefer the museum in Oxford, but this is a contender. If you are interested in Cambridge science, take one of the walking tours focusing on historic locations.

Free to enter interesting collection of scientific instruments and models invented over several centuries, from telescopes to calculators to solar system models. Lots of drawers full of further samples, very interesting and educational.

Lovely, quaint museum with all kinds of history of science treasures. Plenty of telescopes. Horses' dentures. You name it. Some things could do with more informative labelling.

The Whipple Museum is I suggest a must visit especially for those with children. I had been invited to visit on various occasions by a former academic, I wish I had taken the opportunity. I defy anyone with the slightest interest in science to leave...More
