Excellent free museum with the history of Bristol and it's surrounds, trade, industry and people. Great for families and those interested generally in such matters. A great location on the waterside that isn't too commercial. You don't even have to exit via the shop!

My first visit to M Shed spike island. It is a mine of information and Bristol's history through the ages has a cafe and lifts to all the levels could easily spend several hours there and the walk along the river is fantastic.
