We thoroughly enjoyed our visit around this museum AND art gallery. A couple of hours looking at fossils and natural history, Egyptian, and Mexican artifacts, and more. Then interesting art, including some famous well known artists. Entrance is free with a voluntary donation.

I spent a bit less than 2 hours in the museum, I really enjoyed the part about natural history and the one about Egypt but I really felt like there were not nough things about Egypt. A great part of the museum is dedicated to natural history and painting, and I would have seen more about Egypt or other civilisations.... More

Took 60 children for a KS2 primary school trip, amazing, the children loved everything from the Egyptian exhibits, mummies, pots and canonic jars to fossils, minerals, and the stuffed wildlife. The attendants are friendly and knowledgeable. All in a fantastic, beautiful old building. Spot the Banksy sculpture, Damien Hirst large skull painting and so much more. If you come to... More

We've been to the Bristol Museum lots of times, and always find something good to look at! It's got lots of child-friendly exhibits and is well worth checking out.

We were thrilled to see this exhibition of the Staffordshire Hoard which was unearthed by a farmer in 2008 using his scanning device for the first time in one of his fields! It was going to the exhibition just to see the gold scriptwork on many of these items, e.g. jewellery, sword handles, etc. And there are clever uses of... More

Decided on a day out to this museum, the art work and the different rooms they have with mummies and that is fansanating. They have stuffed animals on the top floor which were amazing to see.

My partner and I went to see the exhibition of the Staffordshire hoard (The Warrior Treasures exhibition) and were not disappointed. Stunning exhibition and beautifully set out. Didn't have time to go all around the rest of the museum, but did manage to see the stone age display. We also had an excellent vegan lunch in the cafe. The staff... More

A very traditional museum, full of display cases of stuffed animal, dinosaurs and geological exhibits. On the upper floors there are some decent paintings from Burne-Jones and others. There was a treasure trove exhibition (Saxon sword hilts) when I visited which was very nicely displayed. Overall, a good stop on a walk to or from Clifton.
