Woburn Abbey has been the home of the Earls and Dukes of Bedford for nearly 400 years and is now home to the 15th Duke and his family. Alongside the world class collection of art, the house contains the fascinating stories of the people who have shaped the history of both the Abbey and the nation; including the ‘creation ‘ of Afternoon Tea. The Gardens, with a twenty year restoration programme, are of equal splendour with 28 acres of Repton designs to be explored and discovered.Throughout the year Woburn also hosts a series of events including: classic cars rallies, The Woburn Abbey Garden Show, summer theatre, the country fair, vintage airplane rally and autumn deer walks.

A fab morning visiting Woburn Abbey and Gardens. Starting with a lovely drive to through the deer park so many deer of 9 different species plus beautiful swans nesting. The Abbey is one of the best I have seen. All the staff very informative. Included in our trip was lunch which was vegetable soup with roll and butter plus a... More

I attended an event celebrating the work of Repton at Woburn: it was absolutely fascinating and really well organised. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys history. What made the day so interesting was the chance to learn about their ongoing research, and then to tour the gardens and park to see what has been done as a result.... More

A group of friends and I spent the afternoon here. We had a house tour by a very good guide. He was very knowledgeable and explained in great detail about the family history and art work. The drive up to the house was beautiful . THANKYOU for a lovely visit.

You enter the grounds of Woburn Abbey through the wonderful deer park and along the road you can see the many species of deer including the Pere David's Deer. Once parked you pass through the shop and into the grounds. The daffodils look good but are now passing over shortly to be replaced by the many Rhododendrons and the water... More

We're relatively local to Woburn and it's a great place to take family and friends for a visit both to the house (which is beautiful and full of history) and around the gardens. There is so much to do here that you can really tailor your visit for the people you're with and it's never the same twice. We visited... More

Visited the Gardens on Sunday. We were welcomed at the entrance hut some several miles from the Abbey and asked if we had visited before. Having driven for an hour, our first stop was the tea rooms, where I had a Fentimann's Ginger Beer and Mum had a pot of the English Breakfast Tea. Sorry, readers, but the tea was... More

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. I'm sorry that not all aspects of your visit met your expectations.
