I did a review last year without walking on anything but the beginning, in 2016 my wife and I decided to walk the full length but to do it in manageable stages. We leave our car where we left off the previous time then walk the path then we walk back to the car, in other words we end up... More

Sent 12 days hiking this lovely trail over 12 days. Would not necessarily recommend for the beginner hiker - especially Northern end. Might want to consider 14 days.

Offa's Dyke Path either starts or finishes in Prestatyn, could someone let me know the answer to that? Whether it is start or finish the part in Prestatyn is quite impressive for such a little known relic of the distant past. There is a nice stainless steel monument which marks the start along with boards explaining all about it. Well... More

My wife and I walked the path in March 2015 and had a wonderful time. The scenery, the history and especially the people were just spectacular. We went the entire path from Chepstow to Prestatyn which took 13 days. Advice: If you carry your entire kit as we did, get in shape or go when you are young. The path... More

Walking Offa's Dyke path from Chepstow to Pandy was very well sighn posted and fairly easy walking if you are moderately fit. The countryside was beautiful. We passed through many fields of sheep and lambs so it was important to keep dogs on a lead. That said, there was one field close to Pandy which had 19 young bullocks which... More

I did the Chepstow to Knighton stretch in 2004 and came back to complete the Knighton to Prestatyn stretch in July 2014. What an amazing week I had!! There were times when I thought I wouldn't make it but the amazingly beautiful countryside, the lovely people I met, the physical endurance and mental relaxation and achieving the goal I'd set... I have just finished the northern half of the walk, and had an excellent time. I would recommend the national trail guide as a companion. Accommodation can take a bit of finding in places (Llandegla), and some of the hiking is challenging but well worth it. The countryside changes almost hourly. Above all whatever your level of fitness you can... More

Have just returned from walking northern 100 mile section from Knighton to Prestatyn. Mid-May good time to walk as not busy, not too hot, and with beautiful spring scenery. Apart from flat third day, this walk is far more energetic than many would guess and compares equally, I think, with the first week of the Lakes section of the Coast... More
