The South West Coast Path National Trail is one of the top walks to be found anywhere in the world.Where else can you walk along 630 miles of such superb coastline? The heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery along the way are truly inspirational and every day walking it brings stunning new experiences.Whether you are looking for an afternoon stroll to take you to a beauty spot, or to embark on the challenge of hiking their entire route from Somerset's Minehead on the edge of Exmoor around to the shores of Poole Harbour in Dorset, or something in between, you’ve come to the right place.

This is a small cove on the SWCP which deserves a special mention. It is a delightful place small and somewhat isolated it is great for a getaway beach. Sheltered sandy and south facing it is delightful. Never mind the kelp beds on the foreshore...they indicate that the sea is very healthy here! It is owned and maintained by the... More

I walked the coastal path from Padstow to Porthcothan on a beautiful morning in October. The walk is moderate level (you need to be reasonably fit but not an olympic athlete 😀.) The views are stunning and saw plenty of wildlife, highly recommended for those who love Cornwall as much as I do.

We've been walking bits of the national trail on visits to the SW in the last few years. This time we covered a few miles both east and west out of Weymouth this week. Using local buses and walking back gives the best option for us, with some pubs and cafes along the way to visit just a short distance... More

Even if you don't walk the entire 630 miles, try one of the sections and you will get hooked.. The views are stunning for almost the entire path, and the accomodations and pubs along the way add to the experience.

The SW Coast Path is huge. It goes across a massive chunk of SW England and covers about 630 miles. A good way to visit it is to choose a portion of it to walk, and you can find many such walks on the SW Coast Path website, but it by no means covers all of them. We decided to... More

Did one of the National Trust loop hikes from Bostcastle that went both along the coast and inland through the Valency Valley. Both aspects of the hike were great. Trails are not that well marked so you have to keep your eyes open. It was wet and muddy so waterproof hiking a shoes would be best. We were on vacation... More

A bit late writing my review! I walked all 630 miles between 17 April and 27 May 2007, What a wonderful experience, I set off and walked alone although with an Australian young lady for about 5 days who I met up with along the way. I carried a tent etc, but intended to B&B/youth hostels where available. Despite walking... More

Another 4 legs ticked off the fabulously rewarding South West Coastal Path walk. We walked this time from Charlestown to Portwrinkle. Hard going at times in the balmy September sun but well rewarded by the views, the lovely people we met en route, the pubs at the end and the fantastic if limited service public transport. The18.10 bus out of... More

This hike took us 56 days over four trips to the UK. We have hike all over the world and this is the best long distance hike -- 630 miles -- we have ever done. It is hard. The elevation gain over the 630 mile is the same as going from sea level to the top of Mt. Everest and... More

Talland to polruan was a killer and only 8 miles but we're lime mountain goats. The scenery thrighout was amazing. Highly recommend this walk in in Any shape or... More
